Wasbourne at speed !

Rutger Booy reports:"As a former secretary of the MG-SVW register, David Washbourne still likes to show off his 1939 MG VA Tourer. David, who is now in his early seventies, took us for a drive through rural English country lanes, where we could feel the wind blowing our cheeks away because of the folded-flat windscreen. The revcounter broke down, but the speedometer clearly shows that even with four people on board a speed of more than seventy miles per hour is possible." Thanks a lot Rutger ! (click for his pages).
Edit.: Anybody can do 70 mph in a modern 'disposable' car, but we all know that it takes the youth of a proper car fan to do the same with a set of pre 1940 wheels. So the question comes up: are you young enough for a prewar car?
