Weird Wednesday: a pre-war Topolino

About the only pre-war part about this 1939 Fiat Topolino is its name. And maybe the overall looks. And although even the Fiat logo on the grille is wrong for that particular period, still it can’t betray its origins. The Fiat 500A (zuckerfabrik24.de - in German) was undoubtedly a very popular car and quickly earned its nickname “Topolino” or Little Mouse (disney.it). The majority were sold in Europe, but a few also found their way to the U.S. of A. They were so popular that we’ve heard of a woman named Topolino. So named, because her parents insisted that she was conceived in one… True? Maybe yes, maybe no. Still, a great image… particularly since the parents were both about six feet tall.
