A few days back we had a coffee at the premises of Stijnus Schotte who always has something of interest on his driveway. This time a (probably) WWI Renault truck with a massive 4 cylinder 5, 7, 9 litre (you may say). The truck has been going round in his family for over 30 years and now sits in his driveway, waiting for new ambitious plans. We can imagine that somebody who is planning a crazy special could be interested. But let's concentrate on which exact truck it is. We have no engine or chassis numbers, but here's another view on the carbie side of the engine. And how about this
rear wheel; it has built in gearing? That it is not easy to ID a Renault truck you can read from this Renault truck pages. So if you can help,
contact us (UPDATE by Alan McGuinness: "The Renault truck, with its epicyclic rear axle, looks very much like a 1920s tank transporter. Here's one carrying a stable mate in the form of the famous Renault FT17 Tank."
UPDATE II by Tim Goshahn who says this Renault most likely is a 'FU' Model of which a similar one is in the Berliet collection. Check Tim's posting at HMVF.co.uk
