No petrol…. No helmet… No key to lose… Just the wind to help you glide through the Brooklyn traffic. What a wonderful way to travel, although we wonder how others will react when you gybe on the Highway. Looking at this sail wagon, we immediately were reminded of its early predecessor, the sailing car designed by Dutch inventor Simon Stevin in 1600. At the beach of Scheveningen, with 25 passengers and a favourable wind, he reached a speed of 35 km/h.! (photo collection Tim Martin, Woodstock Historical Society).
