Paul Linster reports from this weekend's very wet Circuit des Ardennes. In between the heavy showers he succeeded not only to shoot, but also to send (!) a few nice photos. His favourite between many highly interesting cars was this Corre La Licorne 1911 (click for bigger photo). He adds about the car: "...she is driven by Mr René Saule, a rather "young" man, from France and a lady (presumably his wife); she (the car) is from 1911 and never has been restored. The doors are not easy to close and difficult to keep them shut. The fabric of the hood has been replaced on the sides by a lighter fabric; this seems to be the only "outer" repair/change. The brass, leather and wood bear the patina of decades; no "never-Dull" no "Leather Care" ,no "Swiss-Oel" .....but perhaps a sweap with a petrol soaked rag. Mechanically she at least did the Circuit from Bastogne to Habay and we never spotted her on the road side, so I think she did succeed; of course there was some smoke, serious noise and some "jumps". Sorry for not having "more founded" information, but her looks is telling stories enough..." Regards Paul (Luxembourg) See this detail of the side with a little patina..... All this a nice contrast to a superb restoration on a very rare Belgian built Germain (photos Paul Linster)
