Why do a Monte Carlo rally ?

With winter in the air you might start getting fantasies about doing one of the many Monte Carlo replica rallies. It is a great thing to do. I did those more than once in the past. People will tell you all sorts of fairytales about courageous driving and all that. Don't buy these stories... the competitors are in it only for this: to have an excuse to leave home in the middle of winter and enjoy the pleasures of the French Riviera (the Winter Trial) after three days of hardship. And I can tell you, it's worth it. No better way to learn about the fun of motoring then taking a primitive but fast set of wheels and floor it all the way to sun...
