Today is January 6, day of the Three Kings ((moodflow.com)). We thought you must be exhausted of the twelve day quiz (don't forget to send in before Monday!). So instead of serving you a 'cold turkey' after all that we decided to give you a little mystery with Indian royalty. Depicted is a royal family prior or during an outing. To be honest we see little to recognise the car instantly and we gladly leave this task to you. But one thing in particular was drawing our attention and that is the radiator mascot which is relatively well known. Check the 'accessory devils' at Mascot Mania. We are almost sure the mascot is British made. The car as well? [email protected] (Collection Harit)
A moment for which Peter Ransom has waited a long-long time:"At last we have a Sunbeam! It’s a 16 H.P. Touring Model of 1919 or 1920 with optional wire wheels. The only real difference between the years was the price – you paid GBP790 in 1919 but GBP1,225 in 1920. Immediate clues are the spare wheel support brackets, the wire wheels – a style unique to Sunbeam – and the hub nuts. The one-piece windscreen was illustrated in the 1919 catalogue but was shown as a 2-piece arrangement for 1921. The Maharajah seems to have added a little decoration at the base of the windscreen."
