Working horse Delage

Due to snowy weather the Antwerp Classic Salon, held last weekend, wasn’t as busy as other years. But its customary cosy atmosphere was certainly present. We immediately fell in love with this 1932 Delage D6.11. Normally a luxurious saloon or attractive convertible (delage-world.co.uk), this example was converted to a pickup as early as 1942. Still unrestored and oozing patina (click photo for full view). This year the show’s main theme was Porsche, but as they were all post-war, we are not going to show you one of those. Maybe the nearest pre-war Porsche was a Diesel, which was essentially a pre-war design (pdce.de). (photos: Rutger Booy)
