Jim 'AON' Kruse writes:"You always have barn finds, but you never show the barn! Well here you go. Attached a photo of a 1920's Model T based Frontenac Race Car my dad and I just found. inside the barn The last photo is of my dad getting ready to load the Frontenac into the trailer. My wife informed me she is taking out additional life insurance on me once we get it running.... It is (the Frontenac) typical of the kind of race cars that competed on the dirt half mile horse tracks in the midwest of the United States. There are very active vintage race car groups that still compete on dirt tracks with these types of cars today here in the States. The engine in this car is one of the racing version that Frontenac offered and cost $800 in 1926. That at a time when you could buy a new model T for about $400. We hope to have it at Hershey in the fall. "
Editor: well Jim, here you have my first offer for the car, the price of a new Model T plus... the price for a new Frontenac engine ... US$ 1200 . What do you say to that? Now when you really want to see and learn from barns, go and check with the Barn People (photos Jim Kruse)
