Recently acquired the 1939 Raymond Mays V-eight Drophead coupe which is the only other car remaining from the five produced at the English Racing Automobiles workshops in Bourne.

Have received so much history , including some directly from the son of Lancelot Prideaux-Brune who remembers visiting Raymond Mays and Peter Berthon in Bourne with his father who was the M.D of Shelsley Motors Ltd and major shareholder. Lancelot saved Aston Martin during the thirties and brought success at Le Mans.
The engine is the fabulous V8 designed by Standard motors and produced by Coventry Climax then tweaked by Peter Berthon . Lancelot entered the Drophead Coupe into the RAC rally in its first event finishing 3rd in the closed car class and then entered the Welsh rally winning the Premier coachwork award . Unfortunately hostilities ended production.
