A Buick Custom Mystery in Scotland. (Upd. Langenthal or Drautz)

Uffe Mortensen sends this great shot of a Buick on tour; unfortunately without any additional information except that it is a Buick and probably not standard. One thing is sure, the photo is not in Denmark. We think it is Scotland or maybe the lake District.  The fact that the car is parked on the left side of the road and is travelling with the Danish standard on the right wing only supports our theory. Anyway, this is all beside the question, Uffe wonders if this is a standard body, or possibly a Gläser or ...? Of course we checked PreWarBuick.com and we think Uffe that it is quite different from the standard package offered by GM in the mid thirties. Can you help?

Its neither Gläser nor Alexis Kellner of Berlin. Kellner of Berlin didnt exist anymore in 1933. It could be Langenthal from Switzerland or Drautz of Heilbronn, both after Alexis Kellner patents. A foto of the former you find in the book American Cars in Europe 1900 - 1940 from Brian Goodman on page 25

Dear Uffe, Yes the coachwork is definitely
Gläser from the type of door hinges to the
almost round Gläser emblem that can be
found at the bottom of the cowl. Also the
beltline is a sure giveaway.
