A Castle’s Terrace filled with Beauties

One of the biggest and most beautiful baroque castles in Europe must be Schloß Bensberg near Cologne in Germany. In September this castle formed the background of the First Schloß Bensberg Classics, consisting of a Concours d’Elégance and a Rallye Historique. Reader Ingo Jost paid a visit and mailed us his report: ”Not Pebble Beach or Villa d’Este, but a nice and quality event with 43 Cars on the Castle’s Terrace, with one third of them pre-war. I liked the original Mercedes Benz; one of two works supercharged Bugatti 57 SC Atalante and a pair of Erdmann+Rossi bodied roadsters like the Horch 853 and an Audi UW 225 (see main pictures). Two Swiss bodied one-off’s were also part of the Concours: an Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS Brichet and a BMW 335 Graber. I’m already looking forward to the next year’s event“ (text and photos: Ingo Jost)
