A 'fachwerk' Mystery. (Upd. Mathis in Miltenberg)

Recently we found this picturesque photo of a German village ready for summer. Everybody is outside. Either for work of for pleasure and it seems they all have a good time. The beautiful 'fachwerk' architecture is starting to attract some tourists. They have parked their  .......? in order to make a snapshot. Probably we have the point of view of the driver who has left the car. We hope you can identify his light car with its distinguished radiator. But there even may be visitors from the Elzas who recognise the village...

Update: many of you recognised the car as being a twenties Mathis. Detlef  Kayser however also recognised the town as the marketplace of Miltenberg in Bavaria. Little has changed!

Surely a type P Mathis of 1922. The location could be Colmar, which has some steep parts in the city. A nice detail is the shadow of the horn (mounted in the window frame) on the bonnet, just before the steering wheel.

The village is not in Elsace but is indeed Miltenberg at the Odenwald and the arrangment of pittoresque houses is the famous so called "Schnatterloch" in the centre of Miltenberg. There's even a nice model of these houses available for your model railway if you want!

Oh I am verry shure that it is a MATHIS!
Because of I`ve got such a radiator by myself in my garage. But my oldest car is a CITROEN TYPE A open twoseater torpedo at the long chaissis.

The light car is a 6HP Mathis P-Type from the beginning of the 20's. The body seems to be the factory 2 seater. You can find a lot of information about this brand on the following websites :

You will find a picture of this model at the following forum page : http://www.forum-auto.com/automobiles-mythiques-exception/section5/sujet152251-185360.htm

A similar model was presented at Retromobile 2012 as shown in this picture : http://www.flickr.com/photos/tautaudu02/7032888853/

As Mathis was an alscian brand, the scene is more likely to happen in this region than in Germany. An analysis of the license plate would help to solve the issue.

...Alsatian Mathis. Emil Mathis built his mostly smallish cars in Strassburg. The car seems to have German registration numbers, although it clearly is a post WWI-model.
