For once it’s not the girl on the right who features in today’s snapshot, no, it’s the 1937 Chevrolet Master. Posing in front of it are the parents of Pierre Stievenard, who always regretted that in 1956 the Chevy had to be sold because it became difficult to get spare parts. Over the years he has been busy trying to find it back, but it wasn't until he retired to France that he spotted an advert for a Chevrolet Master which looked exactly like his father’s old car. It turned out that it wasn’t the same, it’s a 1938 model, but Pierre bought it anyway. He now uses it -rain or shine- almost every day and it drives exactly as he remembers from the family outings in his youth. Pierre even drove it from his home in Brittany to the Swiss city of La Chaux-de-Fonds for the Chevrolet Centennial Celebrations, a round trip of more than 2,200 km.
