A Friday Lady from the family album

This week we have a Friday lady from the family album. A couple of weeks ago we received a letter in the PreWar Postbox from Greg Bailey with this photograph attached. It was probably taken around 1923.

The little boy we see all the way on the left is Greg's father Robert Bailey. In the middle this week's Friday Lady, his grandmother Daisy Bailey. And on the right-hand side Greg's uncle Warren 'Bud' Bailey, when he was a young boy.

The photograph was taken in Slick, Oklahoma. An oil boom town where Greg's grandfather Grant Bailey worked as an electrician on the oil rigs. Times were good and this was his first new car. Wonderful to see again that these affordable Ford cars made it possible for the working class to be to drive a car.

Please comment below if you can tell us more about the Ford in the photograph.

Words by the editor. Photograph sent in by Greg Bailey.
