A mystery in South West England

“This photograph is from The Autocar of January 28, 1938. The car has a very distinctively shaped hood that I have not seen before. It has sharp edges, but it is not a Railton or an Invicta, the radiator shape is wrong. I have no idea what it is, it was apparently photographed in Somerset, UK.”

This message was sent to us by Jan. Can anyone help with the identification of this PreWarCar?
