A New Year back seat Mystery (update: Hupmobile '34-'35!)

Alexander Vonow from Switzerland sends this great photo of a new backseat generation and writes: "As you can see from the attachment, not a 100% of the new generation is motivated yet to take over. So we keep on motivating! Any idea what car this is?"

Editor: Aside the professional quality of the photo our attention was grabbed by the chrome armrests which are also to be seen at the top of the front seats. Shouldn't be too hard to identify this one. Chances may be small but not totally impossible that you are one of the chaps depicted and now of riper age... so do you remember?

Here's a better Hupmobile link:

and for view on split rear window:

It's a 1935 Aerodynamic and it has both the seats and the window (look carefully).

I grew up in the nineteen fifties with my fathers 1934 Hupmobile, it had a one piece rear window and did not have the chrome tubes.

While the rear window looks Cord-like, the door shape is not quite right, and there is no window crank where one would be on a Cord 810 or 812. Also, I have yet to see, or find photos of, a Cord with chrome tube frame seats.

It seems to me that we have to do with a CORD 812

However, there is no quarter window aft of the rear door. Possibly not an Airflow. The sears are VERY similar.

The boys are sitting in the rear seat of a 1934 Chrysler Airflow.
The seats, with the exposed chrome tubing structure, are appropriate at the height of the Art Deco movement.
