Ian Sykes sends this nice shot of a middle aged couple and their nice looking roadster. He added: "I was asked by our local history society in the Cotswolds to identify these cars. I have my own suspicions but it would be nice if others came to the same conclusion." Well Ian, looks you have started your own quiz game. So we leave you with that to our visitors. Any idea about the registration? PX2093, or?
The second photo doesn't look like a big mystery to us. See the car with driver. Looks like a big Austin with a nice wintercoat. Please feel free to fill in the blanks.
It has a dash mounted petrol tank, detachable wheels, drop front axle, drop front crossmember, and square edged radiator.I have recently purchased a "barnfind" quality 1913 Darracq with similar chassis etc to this car but mine although it is a type SS13 is a Clegg engined car which were made in small numbers to use up the remainder of the Valveless chassis. My car also has the bevel drive diff not a worm drive of the 1914 model which did away with the subframe and had a straight front axle.My car also has a rounded edge to the front of the radiator. The electris would have been a specific order as Darracq only offered electrics for these models in 1914.
