A vintage day at Oulton Park in June 1962

David Roscoe shows us a quintessentially British race event. Footage from June 1962, at Oulton Park Circuit in Cheshire. “Fine weather brought out all the folks in the paddock”.

We see the famous Napier-Railton, Sunbeam and MG record breakers from the Montague / Beaulieu motor museum on display. A very fast Benz, Sunbeam and 21-litre Fiat in action during a demonstration run. And for many the highlight of the day, vintage racing with ERA`s, Bugatti`s and more on this technically challenging motor racing circuit in the north west of England.

Vintage Sports-Car Club

The AutoSolo, Cheshire Life Concours and Formula Vintage organised by the VSCC, which would have taken place later this month, all have been postponed. We really hope to be able to see some PreWarCars in action on the circuit later this year! (And what certainly should not be missed is the ice-cream man on the venue).
