A nice piece of family history comes to us through this photo send by Charles Balfe. The two men sitting in the front seat of this fine-looking motorcar are his father and grandfather. We have no way of knowing what the purpose of the photo shoot was, but judging by the way they are dressed, it must have been a special occasion. Rumors in the Balfe-family have it that the car was an Argyll, but Charles isn’t sure. By looking at the shape of the radiator and the lower windscreen line, we tend to agree that it’s indeed made by the Scottish manufacturer Argyll. We even found a very similar (exact same?) Argyll 'borrowed' by the owners daughter ... this Argyll advert (scotiaweb.co.uk). In case you have trouble making sense of the rhyme, see ‘Read More’ for the ‘translation’
