Ask for input

We would like to ask you something. PreWarCar is always looking for ways to innovate and improve our website. At the moment we are busy building a new website for you to improve mainly the usability. In this process, we would also like to involve you! Are there features you would like to see differently on the new PreWarCar.com website? Maybe something that needs to be improved, you rather see differently (also tell us how), or things you miss on the current site. But, this can of course also be something you (really) like on the current website and would like to see (back) on the new site.
Please comment below or send us aan email ([email protected]) with your thoughts, comments or ideas. Together with you we would like to keep PreWarCar.com  THE daily magazine and market place dedicated to the pre-1940 car for car enthusiasts around the world! We would like to thank you in advance for your input.

One more thing: if you make a comment it would be nice to add a photo to your words. That is now not possible...

I always thought a forum would be great, mainly for exchanging information and gaining knowledge. I'm a member on a couple of forums, and I understand there is a 'darker' side to this; some people just like to pick fights, others just want to argue for the sake of it, and... you need a person to moderate the forum. However, I think the positives of a forum would be brilliant, I know I have a million questions I'd like answered, and I'm sure there are other prewarcar readers that could answer them. The way I look at it, it's more about creating a community where like minded people can discuss early car issues and topics. I know it isn't going to be always harmonious, however, I think the positives far out-weigh the negatives. If it were to happen, I promise I would contribute to the discussions to keep the topics 'alive'.

Fully agree with Pete. Regularly there are comments which are cocky and snooty. Those comments do not make sense at all.
Stupidity thick as butter.

The autor cannot change , delete or complete his article, once sent, nor can he or she do anything about comments from people that do not have any knowledge or the slightes notion of the matter and can add as much rubbish to the article as the want.
This should be changed. As the autor delete his article, than you can decide wether or
not the comments are deleted

Cannot help but agree with the comments about people not putting prices on their ads. The message this gives me that the parts/cars are overpriced and the owners are too embarrassed to put the price on.
Keep up the great website - as others have said it is daily reading.

I agree with most of what's been said. I assume that you were already planning on modernizing the way photos are viewed and perhaps small tweeks of the menu system. I suspect that I will continue enjoying your great site every morning!

There really isn't anything that calls for dramatic change. Like a number of others, I would like to see easier viewing of multiple photos and an increase in the number of images permitted for spare parts. No biggie.
On a different and slightly trivial note, there seems to be some confusion about just what pre-war means. The header on this page refers to pre-1945 while your text says pre-1940. In the European context pre-1940 makes sense, but we shouldn't forget that private car manufacture in the USA ended - for the duration of the war - in February 1942.

Great as it is, thank you!

The only words that become a bit annoying sometimes in cars for sale, are "On Request".

It is very difficult now to search for old "Workshop" articles.
I would like to find the "Prewar Workshop" in the "Magazine" Drop down menu.

I love the site the way it is except for one small issue. I wish there would be a way to convince people selling cars or parts to include their asking price in the ad. It is only one word. There is no good reason to hide critical information from the shopper and force him/her to send an email.

It would be nice to list enthusiast auto collector websites by country or in the case of the USA by state.

When travelling, a quick look at a local website might turn up a car show which could be attended. I am President of the Bay State Antique Auto Club in Dedham, Massachusetts www.bsaac.com - Our next show is 10/21/17 in Brookline MA at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum.

If the spares photos were increased from two to five or six, as per car sales, this would be a massive and most welcome improvement. Keep up the good work !

Hi,
Congratulations for looking at ways to improve the web site! I love it as it is and would fully agree with the earlier comments. The facility for parts sales and identification is brilliant & I've used it many times. Thanks team for all your efforts on behalf of those who own and run pre-war cars!!

I agree with so many of the other comments, you have a winning formula, be very careful about trying to "improve" your website. As with Tom St.Martin, an example of what not to do is follow the banks and up-date a site so much so it's unfriendly and un-useable.

My only suggestions as far as any changes, perhaps ask Jos and other contributors for some more interesting technical articles. They are always worth reading. Maybe reduce the quizzes. They are often seen as a filler. When you see crosswords in club magazines you know they are running out of ideas.

The recent videos included are very entertaining and update your site without loosing the essence of PreWarCar. Excuse the pun!

Finally, how about an easier link on adverts to external pictures or videos of the car for sale. I mentioned this to Joris some years ago but it would have been too expensive at that time to add to the website. Perhaps now would be a good time to include this.

But all in all, your readers love the current format so please don't be too heavy handed.

I certainly agree with Tom & Steve -"If it ain't broke, don't fix it" Love it as it is and is a daily must for me. My restoring and old car driving days are done now at 85 years, so this keeps me in contact with the era of cars that I love.

Hello,
Only 1 comment... not that much. I presume everybody is happy and so am I.
When you open the site you have a lot of information, but at the same time it is clear how you have to go further and find your way.
If I can make one suggestion : is it possible to add on the PREWAR page links to prewarcar clubs or events ? Postwar clubs and activities are far too nummerous to start with.
Please do go on with your daily items, stories, mysteries... it is Always intresting !

It would be nice when an advert has more than one photo to be able to swipe the photos instead of having to click on each one individually.

I like the current website very much. So I would be cautious about "improving" it. I am power of attorney for my brother-in-law and his bank has decided to "improve" its website access. I have followed all of the instructions to the letter and I can't get in to the *^&@#$ account! I'm a "if it aint broke, don't fix it " kinda guy.

Would advice on a seemingly insurmountable problem, say, once a week, be interesting to visitors to your website?
I had one with a water pump that could not be repaired or replaced. My solution? Fit a 12 volt electric water pump.
