Calling All Women!

Women participating in fast driving, were not your traditional image of women in the 1920s. But not all women kept to the strict standards of that time and they battled head to head with the stronger sex for fame and recognition. During the years from 1924 to 1934 a total of 23 of those daring women drivers took part in the longest mountain race in the world, the Klausenrennen. In 1924 Ms. Rothenbach, wife of racing driver and director of the Gas Works Olten on Amilcar and the Princess of Hohenlohe from Lucerne on Bugatti were the first women to participate. And the tradition continues as actress Manon Pfrunder will take part in the 2013 edition of the Klausenrennen. But she must not be the only woman to appear on the starting line! Therefore the organization of the Klausenrennen is calling brave women to enter the hill climb. Start here!
