Comeback of Kamm in Como (UPDATE: 'Artist Impression')
Last weekend’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este showed the line up for “100 Years of Alfa Romeo” which has been travelling the world since January. Fabulous but no news there. New - and we like to stress the word New - was a car that was scrapped in 1953, during the ownership of former BMW racing chief Loof. This is sad, as the well airlined BMW 328 Kamm Coupé, was one of the racing cars which made history in the 1940 Mille Miglia. This Coupé was named after the German aerodynamics pioneer Wunibald Kamm. But now – 70 years after its Mille Miglia victory – BMW Classic has made a fine recreation(*) of the legendary racing car; check more photos at Motorauthority.com.
(*) one cannot say replica as besides photos there was nearly nothing to replicate from...

if the old pictures and the "recreation" are intended to be the same car. Then I'd like to call it an artist impression. I think there are to many fakes, replica's etc. Sometimes build with good intention. Sometimes just pure fraud. In this case BMW is clearly stating it's a replica on the other hand they have made it better looking then the original. Which glorifies their history, a history which is rich enough on it's own and doesn't need this kind of forgery that's why I call it an artist impression.

If this is being "Reproduced" by BMW the "Original" manufacturers, then it seems almost fair to call it a Replica.
What we are actually getting paranoid about is "Fraudulent" copying with intent to deceive.
Producing an "Original" from scattered parts, is that a Replica ?
