The grandparents of Jimmy and Deuce.

Today GMC is one of the longest-running brands of General Motors. William Durant, founder of GM in 1908, also owned a majority share in the Rapid Motor Vehicle Company and together with the Reliance Motor Car Company and the Randolph Motor Truck Company (both already owned by GM) these makes were integrated in a new GM Truck division in 1912. The trucks were mainly sold in the USA, including some electric ones. In Europe the name GMC is mostly associated with the type CCKW, a military truck that helped liberate Europe during WW II. It was fondly known as 'Jimmy' or 'Deuce and a Half', the last nickname indicating its loading capacity of 2,5 ton.
