Have some fun at Amelia this weekend

Amelia Island is where the action is this weekend. With the second best Concours of the USA, according to some the best. And with auctions all around, Gooding & Company, RM Auctions and...yes like in Paris here is a third party as well. Hollywood Wheels with their Amelia Island Select and like always, don't overlook a 'new kid' like this, there may be bargains overlooked by others. They have 128 cars with among a long list of full american classics some eclectic european material that you wouldn't expect here. Like a Bentley LeMans Special, two (!) Brough Superior bikes and more. And just for the fun of it: what about the big boy toy depicted here a 1928 'RR' / Cadillac 27 litre V12 Meteor Special named "Thunderbolt" with mahogany boattail body. And it's not only for concours parking, it actually is a streetlegal runner. Check this video until the flaming upstart. Enjoy the show, the Concours at Amelia, enjoy a fabulous spring weekend.

Hey Guys, Everybody's taste is different. I happen to like this car. What are we talking about here?
The owner never tried to imply this is a real Rolls Royce. I see this as a expression of rolling art. So, mister purist, eat your heart out.
Can't you just enjoy it for what it is? A really wild fun car...

Henry Royce would be prizing the RR badge off the radiator and suing for defamation of character!

1928 Rolls Royce 27 litre V12 Meteor Custom .... bitsa, on a Cadillac chassis and suspension ?
How can this car be called a Rolls Royce ?

The Meteor engine, was a tank engine developed from the Merlin in World War II.
It was detuned, did not have a supercharger, and ran on lower-octane petrol.
Manufacture was transferred from Rolls-Royce to Rover, so strictly speaking, we are talking about a Rover powered car.
A bit misleading, the advertising, eh ?
