Praying for a dry Brighton Run

Next weekend will be a busy one for true adepts of the very early motor cars as it’s that time of the year again for the annual London to Brighton Run. We haven’t seen the weather forecast yet, but we truly hope it will be a bit better than last year when at moments it was glove-wringing wet. At least the Concours in Regent Street enjoyed some good spells on the Saturday. Oh, and don’t forget, Bonhams will have its auction of Veteran Motor Cars and Automobilia on the Friday. They have some very nice eligible Brighton Run Vehicles on offer. Why not buy one on Friday and drive it to Brighton on Sunday?

Speaking about very early motoring: CarChannel is repeating the documentary about 2007 Peking-Paris in four parts on television. In this you see a early Spyker, a ITALA and a three wheeler CONTAL and a grumpy owner of a very slow DION BOUTON bouncing around through impossible terrain in Mongolia and Goby dessert: 15.000 km in cars that I would not even take for a spin around the block :-) Great stuff and don't miss it and Car Channel repeats the programme a couple of times a week so check your TV guide please!
