Hundreds of classics under the sea.

When you don't live in the Low Lands (Les Pays Bas) this is hard to believe. The Dutch organise their largest classic car event some 10 feet below sealevel. Year after year after year they bring their costly automobiles to Holland's Octopus's Garden and yet keep their tyres and feet dry, unless the rain gods decide otherwise. This part of the Nether-lands once was part of the IJsselmeer Sea and was pumped dry according to plans of waterworks engineer Drs. Lely in 1950. Check here where he planned Lelystad city in 1949. In case you don't believe a word of what we're saying, come and meet us Sunday or have a preview of what to expect...  (photos courtesy Oldtimerdag Lelystad )
