In stead of a skiing holiday: Copenhagen v.v.

Now if you feel like something after The 100 Miles, VSCC's Measham or another winter drive out, eat your heart out on reading this. Bert Degenaar felt like a test drive after his 4 litre blown Bentley with Marshall blower engine (*) had a thorough overhaul and thought what the heck. He asked his wife Loes and dog to grab their duffels plus a weekend bag and drove off for a long weekend Copenhagen. There he wanted to meet the wife of the late artist Victor IV of whom he is a great admirer.  From his home 'Zuylenburgh', Netherlands to Copenhagen and back - with a few small detours - is a little bit less than 2000 km (1200 mile). Most vintage car drivers would rather eat their tonneau cover than doing so in winter. According to Bert it was big fun and the cold not that bad. After all with a few meals in between it is basically a few 4 hour drives with pauses in between... The Bentley flew without missing a beat not in the last place due to using the right decal. No report on the apres-ski along the german autobahns. They arrived home safely and our respect for the trip is blowing in the wind.

Epic... But I really hope that he has washed the Bentley thoroughly. The roads are covered in salt in Denmark at the moment.

That's the spirit. well done.
When living in New Zealand i Joined several times The R'Oil Can Rally a weekend of 400km driving. A mid winter rally with only open top cars organized by the Waitemata Branch of the VCCNZ. Rain, sunshine or frost didn't keep the hard core away.

Blown Bentley? I see two perfectly normal S.U.s! Why do so many Bentley owners hype their cars as "Blown" when they aren't?

editor: you are (almost) correct. The blower was diconnected as it will freeze in winter weather. But believe me it has a blower.
