MG J type in fifties Alpes Maritimes

Karel Vermeer recently found this charming picture of an MG J type with French registration number ending with 06. This means it was registered in the department Alpes-Maritimes. The atmosphere and abundancy of French cars makes you almost think the car is a M-onet G-oyon, but of course it isn't. By its tatty looks the MG is well used, and by the looks and the attitude of the charming lady we think she is not related to the car and only posing with the funny old car. The front apron is showing two badges and one of those is the MG Car club badge. So there may be a tiny-tiny chance that the car is still around. Anybody of our French friends who can jump in?
