New Bayside rule brings out the unexpected.

Craig Little reports from the Melbourne area: "The recent introduction of  a log book sytem in Victoria has meant that Club permit vintage and classic cars, now have the freedom to be used outside published club events.

The pictures below are one example of the benefits. With an eclectic group of car enthusiasts  who have formed up to  enable  get-togethers  based on the convenience of location, and local attractions, irespective of the make or type of vehicle they own.

These Bayside Car Enthusiasts are seen here congregated in the grounds of historic Black Rock House (C1854) originally a 176 acre bayside 'country retreat' property owned by a prominent Melbourne identity and parlimentarian. On a much diminished allotment, it  now sits in a leafy street in what has become one of Melbourne's inner bayside suburbs.

Despite having lived in the area for decades, the superb, local 1923 Alfa Romeo was a total suprise to this writer . Other offerings (see photos) suggest there is much more to be discovered in the area. With the option of a 45 or 90  day use log book, it is easy to imagine any number of  makes of long garaged classic cars,  being dusted off to enjoy the social and driving pleasures of local meetings."
