Newark, Hanover, Silver and... favorite. (UPDATE: full report by Kit Foster)

Ask a handful writers/photographers to do a report on Hershey and they will show very little overlap. Here a few odd balls that we found on our way through the fields. Starting with the smallest of all cars which is a surprise to find in this big country, but there's a good reason for that. The 1908 BrowniekaR (made in Newark, the airport West of NY) "...is a toy designed for harmless sport amusement of the young folks, of such light weight and low... (click to read full text ). A car for the slightly more ripened 'young folks' is the delicate 1922 Hanover cyclecar (US$ 25,000 at Hyman Ltd.). A quite different Runabout - probably meant for a man with four mothers in law - is the 1916 Willys-Knight with a most flexible six person seating arrangement as built by Silver of New York.
Our personal "full field favorite" was without a shadow of doubt the 1913 Regal Underslung . A 96 (!) years old car as low, as sporty and modern looking as this one, set all our senses on WoW! Our approach would be: take away the chrome, add nickle or at least don't polish the underlying brass. Add a few pounds of grease and TLC, but not a drop of paint and you'll have the smartest looking pre-WWI on the road. Check ! Our congratulations to the new owner!
