Michael Ware sends a photo that came to him from Alan Whytock. It was his grandfather's car and his mother always said it was a Daimler. Though you cannot see the front of the car the radiator surround does not look like a Daimler (check photo detail). It seems to have a hump in the top of it, rather like the Edwardian Standards, but this a bigger car than that. A lovely family grouping, with typically for the period the chauffeur standing to one side, but included all the same. Surely they did not all arrive in the one car? The costumes are terrific and even the family dog is included on the front seat. We still hope to hear what is the location, yet it looks like a Midlands(?) hilltop.
He went from Denmark to Darjiling in India near to the Nepal border in the beginning of the century, and started a tea farm as the first in the highland. He was successful and own as I know a Standard Avon Roi de Belge from around 1907-08.
Around 1917-18 the family was on holiday in Denmark with the car, as it was told from the older in the family.
