No-Humbug: massive Humber find! (Upd. another Landaulette)

A most extraordinary collection has come to daylight in Belgium. The Humber line-up of eclectic amateur Andre Mol. When sometime halfway the sixties Andre's love for old cars awoke, his father threatened to kick him out of the house, so Andre kept quiet until the demise of the old man in 1972. But then he began buying cars with a pace few others can follow, and no longer than a few weeks later he almost had a blower Bentley, drove a Railton for some time, but finally lost his heart to Humber. He drove at least 10 or 12 different models and bought about any Humber his wallet would allow him. Not too long ago Andre - nickname Willy - Mol has left for the green-green Humber heaven, his family has the task to take care for the 18 cars remaining, including a very rare Pulman Landaulette. Some of the cars are fine, some in need of a good portion of TLC, yet most of them are in poor condition. But what a treasure! What a treasure for any Humber afficionado or at least a fabulous mine for digging up post vintage Humber parts. (photos Koen van Nieuwenhuyze ; see 'Read More' for a shortlist of the cars in the collection)

note: who can fill us in regarding the "Willy Pol Trophy"?

Update: Harit Trivedi sends a photo of presumably the only other Pulman Landaulette in existence, which is in his collection.

Hi folks! I have a 1936 Pullman Limousine, ex. Queen Maud and Kinf Haakon of Norway. Unfortunately the flywheel/starter ring is damaged beyond repair. Anyone who have a flywheel or a complete motor for sale?
Tom, Norway

The Willie Mol Trophy is an award given by the PVHCC for pre-Mark Humbers at the Annual International Humber Rally. The award was donated by Willie Mol in the early days of the Club.

This years winner of the award and others can be found here:

I have visited the Willie Mol collection twice first in 1988 and again in 2007, and have been on the Committee of the PVHCC since 1983. Ralph we do know about the Landaulet! I had the pleasure of knowing Willie, and being shown around by him and have some photos online here:

I has visited this collection 2 times, and I'm still impressed!Willy Mol and his son bought the Humber snipe 80 Saloon 1935 from my father around 1990, it had a wilson-pre-select gearbox, the car had no rust, never restord but was driving very well. It had built-in jacks, perfume holders and mirrors in the back. It was a ex- British staff car. Great collection and great nice people!

I'm surprised the PVHCC has no knowledge of the Landaulet. The Rootes brothers owned the coachbuilds and both a Limousine and Landaulet were standard models: at £750 they were half the price of a Rolls Royce 20/25. There was even a fancy sedanca de ville, though that was a pricey £950. I'm sure I have seen a landaulet here in the UK, though not a 1934 model.

I was most interested to read that there is a 1934 Humber Pullman Landaulette, I have one here in India, an ex-Maharaja car and believed it to be the only one in the world as was told to me by PVHCC. In fact they had mentioned that they were not aware of this body style being built. Mine has a body by Thrupp and Maberley. Can send pictures if desired. I would like to see a picture of this Landaulette.
Cheers Harit
