About Rudy Kousbroek and Gabriel Voisin.

Without knowing, Dutch essayist Rudy Kousbroek (1929-2010) had a great influence on PreWarCar. For editor Joris Bergsma it was the Amilcar, in which Kousbroek drove from Holland to France to visit his friend Gabriel Voisin, that inspired him to become an Amilcar aficionado and in creating this website. For editor Rutger Booy it was an English translation of an essay by Kousbroek about Voisin that was one of his first articles for PreWarCar. Rudy Kousbroek had been a personal friend of Gabriel Voisin, the famous French aviation pioneer and automobile designer. For many years the two friends had an on-going correspondence and it is Rudy Kousbroek's archive with these letters and lots of unique personal photos of Gabriel Voisin that will be auctioned on November 13-14 at Burgersdijk & Niermans, Leiden, The Netherlands. The contents of the archive can be seen here, including an essay about Voisin, written by Kousbroek in 1970. We predict a lot of interest in this special auction.
