Feeling stuffed? You won’t be on your own as one of Thanksgiving’s traditions is to overeat…
This lovely photograph may actually be a day late, but since we had the choice of two great Thanksgiving themed pictures (yesterday’s news here) we thought we’d share this one also – it is very suitable for our Friday Lady-series after all.
Information is as scarce as ever and we couldn’t find anything else than that it was taken in 1927. We can only guess that the smartly dressed lady drove out to a farm that year to buy a turkey for the Thanksgiving meal. Hey, supermarket turkeys weren’t available back in the day so you had to go out to the country to get yourself a bird. Did she just take off her glove to pay the farmer with money from that art-deco purse? She’d better left it on with that big beak now coming so close…
Anyone out there who is able to identify the persons? Or the car?
