At a car show cars must shine, or better super shine. Yet we see a development which started a few years back taking more form. In the United states it was at the 2001 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance when a special class for well-preserved cars was started. It took some time for the public and the collector's world to get used to this radical idea, but it is picking up rapidly now. In earlier years we saw only a few unrestored cars pushed away in the far field during the AACA Fall Meet at Hershey. The picture has changed. This year we saw some 30 unrestored cars (10% of the total of cars present ?) attracting lots of attention. It will be interesting to see how this is going to develop... But let's be careful. We also saw people presenting very poor preserved and ill maintained cars. Jury's should be attentive and formulate rules to get about the new development. Let's keep in mind there is a huge difference between a Concours and a fleemarket.
