Black Friday, who needs it? We shouldn't buy without a brain just because it's cheap. Consume less!
What we do need is a race in classic cars through a desert with warm sun on our heads and with lots of dust, how lovely.
Keep up the good work!

I can add some captions to these pictures. The first is a 1928 Ford Model A "Miller Ford" being driven by Phil Shephard. The car was photographed in Pasadena some time around 1963 but its early history is not known. It was obviously not built by Harry Miller!
The second car driven by me is a 1913 Ford Model T speedster called the Ashton Racer because it was built many years ago by Vic Ashton. It won races at the first Australian Ford Model T National Tour in the 1970s.
The third car is a 1926 Ford Model T called Heza Henry. It has a Rajo BB head reputedly coming from a Model T raced in the 1930s at the Sydney Speedway. It has a modified Brooklands Riley body and 1926 Chrysler Four steel wheels.
The fourth car is a 1928 Chrysler 72 Sports Roadster called Silverwings which has raced in Western Australia since 1997. It was originally built as a replica of the Chrysler which set the Australasian 24 Hour Speed Record on Lake Perkolilli in 1927. The car has been raced on the claypan five times.
The last car is a 1936 Ford V8 driven by engine builder Dean Whisson. This car was built as a replica of the car driven by Ossie Cranston which recorded fastest time at the Australian Grand Prix in 1936. It was built in the early 1980s by Max Gamble and Clem Dwyer and is regarded as the first replica early racing car built in Western Australia. Few early racing cars survive in Western Australia but building replicas has been a way of keeping the spirit of early motor racing alive.

Have we lost the Friday girl just because it's 'black Friday'?
