A non-Horch Mystery (upd. chassis + engine still around!)

Toby Ross recently found this elegant roadster body, one that seesm to be born for mediteraenean boulevards and concourses. However it is an empty hull without chassis or any mechanical parts. Our first impression was Lancia Astura, but Toby thought that it could be Horch. Not so, the body is not wide enough at the B posts to sit on a Horch chassis. Still he stayed with the presumption that it was a German body at least, but he is not sure any longer. He even is seeing some shades of Letourneur & Marchand, especially at the front.
All the wood is original, except perhaps the doors, which seem to have survived better. The wheelbase is around 3.3 meters, (upd. more accurate is 3.4 metres). We understand that this mystery body was in Odessa for many years, but even that is not sure. Possibly the radiator grill is not original, and maybe the doors were cut down in the past. Anybody who can cough up an educated guess?

I thing of Zbrojovka Type : Z5 Express had a FOUR cylinders 1500 cm3 two stroke engine and also front wheel-drive. So the car needs a very long bonnet and the chassis of the roadster is 50 cm longer as a chassis limousine. On this picture we can see the similar design.

Wheelbase is estimated at 3.4 meters, and not 3.3.

Hi,
Jawa and Zbrojovka are definitely not of this size, both being 2 cyl two stroke of about 700ccm. Uhlik was based in Prague but I am not sure what chassis this would be...

I have come to the conclusion that it is possibly a Delage D8. I don't think its an Alfa for two reasons. Wheelbase is too long, and length of bonnet would indicate an eight cylinder.

It seems a body of heart europe from year around 1936. It could be special body from firm Uhli in Brno in Cz. For chassis Zbrojovka or Jawa with front wheel-drive.

Sirs,

I agree that it must be an Alfa body and

I once owned a 1937 Alfa Romeo 6C 2300B with a Superleggera Pescara Coupe body by Touring of Milan. As I remember it the bonnet was not at all as long as this one. If for an Alfa Romeo it must have been for the 8C 2900 chassis?
