The future of pre-war cars is quite a brain-teaser for many of us. The market changes all the time and it is important to follow the trends. For the last years, we noticed the interest in special-built cars is high and only a handful of enthusiasts enjoy a saloon car.
In response to this new tendency, we have heard from various organisers of classic car events and clubs, that they would like to ban saloon cars from their fields and events. Therefore, we decided to join their initiative and help private-mechanics to build their dream car.
The first step is that we will add a category to the website especially for cars that are perfect for customisation. We are aiming this at great looking saloon cars, from which the body can be taken off and replaced by a lovely two-seater aluminium body. To encourage you, we are offering a financial bonus for every good saloon-body removal. Besides this, we can also help with the drawings of the new body and if needed we are happy to give technical advice.
To manage all this, we have hired a new employee who is really looking forward to helping you with your projects. His name is Bernard Utcher and although he hasn’t been active in the car business so far, we think he is perfect for the job as he has an enormous passion for this line of work; “I’m really looking forward to it as I think many cars would benefit from a lighter two-seater body. I cut and sold meat before but am really happy to take this step into the classic car world. Therefore I ask everyone with an original car to take the body off and make it more suitable for the modern world. Our first task will be to find the right cars. It is necessary for us to have our priorities right and only use only saloon cars that are still in a decent and very original condition. There is no challenge in using a rolling chassis or cars that are already dilapidated.”
We think this will fit in well with modern times and we would highly recommend that everyone with a suitable saloon car takes this opportunity. The first 10 people who sign up will be given a wonderful satchel. Perfect to place on your spare wheel. Additionally, every participant in this project gets a selection of stickers to put on their car.
