Lot Nr. 11 at H & H's 16 June auction is an 1937 Lagonda LG45 Saloon de Ville. Not only the unmolested-unrestored condition is intriguing. Also the 'Saloon de Ville' bit of the name. We understand this one specimen of an exceptional small series of cars with a 7" longer wheelbasis thus giving more room for the passenger legs yet also for a B-pillar as opposed to the standard pillarless saloons. This in view of a possible client wish for a division. As there are no LG 45's known with a divions, we must assume the market didn't agree with the idea. In short, this is not the tyoical victim or 'donorcar' for people who wish to build 'works racer replicas'. This is an automobile for the true Lagonda afficionado who wishes to revive one of the most luxurious postvintage british saloons ever built.
