Dieter Strasser came accross this "Nr. 38" electric vehicle of unknown origin. He reports the frontfork similar to the Borgward Blitzkarren but then elektro driven. He has been told that in the twenties these small 'pick-ups' may have been used at the Borgward factory. And wonders if somebody may know more about this Vehicle?

The R is the registrasion letter får "Skaraborg" a part of Sweden fairly close to Gothenburg (though Gbg had "O" at their registration plates. I found a photo in the Swedish "Car factories Bible" Bilbyggare i Sverige. Photo: courtesy Jan Janthe. This one has been fitted with a Villiers MC-motor...

It is without a doubt a REX Electric transport from the REX factory in Halmstad in Sweden.
They manufactured these vehicles during 1941 - 1946 and then produced a total of 279 pieces.
About 10 pcs. are preserved today.
I have a copy myself that I am renovating.
I have more information if desired.

Does the plate say NR38 or maybe just R38. The latter could be a Swedish number plate which is another lead to Rex from Sweden!

I can't add too much but in October 1929 Automotive Industries reported that "Borgward and Tecklenborg, acquired from a bank a block of shares of the Hansa-Lloydwerke A. G. of Bremen, constituting the majority and therewith assumed control over the campany, which is well known as a producer of express trucks, buses, coaches as also of electric carts and an 8-cylinder pleasure car".

Clearly the electric carts would seem to be the most relevant
