Some time ago we received this photo from an anonymous source. The back drop is a mountain group called Three Sisters in the state (ooops: should be province!) of Alberta, Canada (which should not be confused with the Three Sisters (rock peaks) in the Blue Mountains, Australia). It must have been a tourist attraction already in the twenties-thirties when this photo (p0stcard?) was shot. We set out in order to asses which exact road was used and concluded that this probably was the Smith Dorrien Trail, some two miles south west of the Three Sisters. Of course this is all diversion of the essential question pictured above...
I live not far away from where this photo was taken and the Mr. Urfjell is correct. I have hiked up the "Three Sisters" many times. I recommend everyone do so if they come this way.
Just a tiny "oops" in the original article, it is the Province of Alberta,
not State. PS: I wish the road and area were still so
undeveloped!
