Trike and Quadricycle Fun on the 5th of May

We hope you all had a wonderful Easter. Maybe you are one of the lucky ones and had a bank holiday or an extra day off from work. Did you take this opportunity to do some odd jobs in the garage? When is your next PreWarCar event? Take a moment to check if you already have something planned on Sunday the 5th of May 2019. Otherwise, block this date! De Dion-Bouton Club UK organises – for the fifth time - together with Bernard and Sylvia Holmes from Barnards Farm the club’s starter. A day of fun with trikes and quadricycles! The essentials are a practice session, a qualifying time session, a beginner's race, slow, pursuit, relay and handicapped events.

Like last year there will be a relay race in which trikes and quadricycles can take part. The central grit course is a shapely oval of 287 meters. Overtaking will be at your leisure and the racing is over 4 laps which is 1 kilometer. The starts will be standing starts by push, pedal or engine running.

Arrive at any time after 09:00 on the day. A compulsory briefing will be held for riders, marshalls, mechanics and photographers at 10:00. All vehicles will be scrutinised, crash helmets are obligatory and an IOPD racing license is mandatory issued on the day. The course will be open for practice from 10:15. Qualifying will start at 10:45 and the first track event will be at 11:15. Tea and Coffee will be available on arrival and lunch will be served in the Barn. In case of the weather being unkind, there is plenty of cover on the circuit. The gardens will also be open and with luck the Malus (Crab Apple) blossom should be in full swing. It is also possible to travel on the miniature train. A fun day out for the whole family! Watch HERE a video from last year.

After the racing and lunch, there will be a run out for all and a coffee break at Judi’s Café and Antique Shop in Blackmore. The outbound route is approximately 20 miles, ideal for older cars although the ‘Barnards’ De Dion collection will be out on the road as well. The return route is some 14 miles. So bring your PreWarCar (if possible) to join us on the short run out. Please pre-register HERE and pay in advance.

We hope to see you all at Barnards Farm on Sunday the 5th of May 2019!
