A VAVA mystery (update: ca. 1910 Vivinus)

Another mystery sent in by Hugo Modderman.
The left car is obvious a De Dion Bouton (you can clearly see the name on the radiator). The other car is another story. We can see two 'V's' across each other and also two A's'. We don't know what brand it is. We hope you can help us solve this mystery!

Raadsel??

Groeten

Hugo

The invention of the overhead door has been credited to C.G. Johnson in 1921. However, as early as 1902, American manufacturers—including Cornell Iron Works—published catalogs featuring a "float over door." Evidence of an upward-lifting garage door can be found in a catalog in 1906

I'm curious about that roll up door as well. If steel roll ups weren't available yet, could it be a wood tambour door? I've never seen one this big.

I would say the garage door is possibly a wood roll up, rather than steel.

Nice photo, and indeed a De Dion-Bouton and a Vivinus, the date probably around 1910. The license number on the Vivinus was registered on the name of Ern. Wilford from Tamise (Tems in Flamish, near Antwerp). In Tamise Charles Wilford and his sons Paul, Maurice and Auguste build a few cars around the turn of the century. Undoubtedly Ern.(este?) Wilford was related in some way to this family. About the license number on the De Dion, possible the last digit is not visible, but even then I couldn't make a connection with the Vivinus owner.

Could the car be a Vivinus. Belgium made 1899-1912 by Ateliers Vivinus. See Georgano and http://www.automuseums.info/museum/egge-museum Radiator shape is similar.

I am interested in the overhead roll up door shown in the picture. In the USA, the overhead garage door has been presumed to be invented in about 1921.. This photo is much earlier.

Was the roll up steel garage door available in Europe pre 1910?
