What is it? Quiz #468

We think this quiz is going to be a bit more difficult – but you may well surprise us, once again, with your amazing knowledge!

Announced with considerable confidence at the main motor show of its country of manufacture, held in the city where it was built, this new make planned not one but three models. The one shown here had a very neatly designed engine, and a lot of care had been taken with suspension and body design. Despite this, and the fact that the company had on its board of directors one of the most famous men of his time, born in the same country as our mystery car, the car lasted only one year.

One last clue to the country of origin: look at the radiator design!

Please tell us as much as you can in a comment below, before Monday. Remember – not more than 100 words. Have a great weekend and good luck!

This is the 1922 Scotsman, designed by J. Hall Nicol. The Scotsman Motor Car Co Ltd of Glasgow built three models, two four-cylinder (1460cc 10/20hp and 1492cc 11hp) and a six-cylinder ohc 2354cc 14/40hp known as the Flying Scotsman. All engines were British-built proprietary engines. The six built by Sage and was basically the same engine as in the Australian Southern Six prototype. The famous Scotsman director was singer and comedian Sir Harry Lauder, the first British artist to sell a million records and highest-paid performer in the world in 1911. The Scotsman radiator was shaped like a thistle.

I think it is an Arrol Johnston "Victory". A somewhat unsuccessful model.
