Whatisit? Quiz # 329

Our main photo shows a 1/10 wooden scale model from the early 1930s. Although it was rather futuristic, it was further developed into a full-scale prototype, which differed a bit from the model. Yet it was one of the first automobiles to have an all-enveloping, streamlined body with plenty of space for passengers and specially designed suitcases. The spare wheel mounted at the back also acted as a bumper. Built in 1933 the body was mounted on a chassis given to the designer by a large manufacturer who also paid for the costs. In the end they refused to accept this prototype, but later they made their own streamlined version of it. The 1/10 scale model still exists in a Museum of Science and Technology but we are not so sure about the 1/1 prototype. It is rumored that it went to Denmark where it was later scrapped. The prototype had no real name of a marque, but carried a nice sounding nick-name. Can you tell us what that was? If you got that far, then you can also tell us who designed it. More difficult may be the name of the look-a-like streamlined model marketed by the big manufacturer two years after the prototype.
