This week’s Friday Ladies are about to take off in a twin-cylinder Swift. This little two-seater is over the years used on various VCC rally’s (and has a VCC Dating Certificate). With spring approaching, we are all getting ready for the upcoming events.

In the current ownership since 2005, the 1911 Swift was treated to a comprehensive mechanical overhaul which included extensive chassis restoration. Finished in red with a blue interior the 10/12hp tourer benefits from full weather equipment including a tonneau and the fitment of an impulse starter. Raise your hand during the upcoming H&H Classic auction on the 18th of March and you can be the proud new owner. What is the first event you would like to participate in with this 1911 Swift 10/12hp Tourer?

But there is more on offer in the Imperial War Museum Duxford Sale on the 18th of March 2020!

We are pretty sure you have already seen the two impressive Lagonda’s. The imposing Lagonda V12 - a factory-bodied Drophead Coupe - built on the short (10ft 4in) wheelbase, which was first registered on June 12th, 1939. Another highly presentable example is this 1938 Lagonda LG6 Drophead Coupe. Originally the property of Prince Bernhard of The Netherlands with a wonderful history. Both will certainly attract a lot of attention at the various International Concours d'Elegances.

Also worth looking at is the 1926 Bentley 3 Litre Speed Model Tourer with matching chassis, engine, front axle and magneto tower numbers. Which also has been in the possession of a fairly well-known person in the automotive world, Le Mans 24-hours winner Johnny Hindmarsh. From the same year is this 1926 Morris Cowley 'Bullnose' Tourer. The car was bought in 2016 as an unfinished restoration project and is now in running and driving condition. A new ash frame has been fitted and the bodywork restored with a photographic record. We would say touring with the whole family!

Besides the running cars, there is also a four-seater 1934 Alvis Speed 20 SB restoration project which will be auctioned. It is one of just twenty-three Speed 20 SB chassis to wear Charlesworth Drophead Coupe coachwork. The Alvis comes with a large quantity of paperwork which dates back to the 1950s and includes several factory invoices. But there is still some work to be done to make it completely roadworthy.
