While 'everybody' was at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, lots of other good and speedy festivals took place elsewhere. Some 60 miles east of Paris your editor spent the weekend with the Amicale Salmson for their 2012 Rallye des Cyclecars. A most pleasant summer event with touring along quiet 'white' country roads, sleepy villages and stops at very interesting, non-overcrowded museums. At max the Salmson fleet counted over 25 cars, here a short line up (at Ajecta train museum). Among those we like to mention a few cars in particular, the wonderfully restored early GN-licence car of Tim & Julia Armitage, the ultra rare VAL3 drophead coupe of Jos Cox, the factory bodied "Dual Cowl Bordino", and the fabulously patinated GS8 of Bob Gill. Among the 'modern ware' the very art-deco S4D (merci for correction Mathieu Gras!)was not be overseen. The weeklend was far too short of course, but enough to get a good bite of Salmson. We like to express special thanks to Jos Cox for the invitation and of course the organising Amicale Salmson.
